Monday Mutterings...

I'll try to do more than mutter though! It looks like I am falling behind yet again, but I'm sure you ALL know what life gets like! And then when I do sit down to post, something always comes up...

An update on my previous sister in law, Phyllis Miller-Petersen; they diagnosed her a few weeks back with an auto immune deficiency, which I guess is quite similiar to Lupus. If she gets over tired, she could have a relapse, so they've told her she has to take things slow for, well, the rest of her life. They also found a mass on one of her ovaries and after a hysterectomy this past Friday, they have found it was cancerous, as well as the canser having already spread into the colon. They feel they have gotten 80% of the cancer, and she will be doing the chemotherapy. Other than that, I am not sure what will happen, but I will try to keep everyone abreast of the situation. Please remember her in your prayers.

I have taken on two new dayhome kids, who started today. They will only be with me 4 hours, 2 days a week, but are lovely children, Two brothers, Benjamin is 3 and a half, and they just adopted a little 15 month old from Ethiopia, who is absolutely adorable! The really cool thing about the whole situation is I found out the mom was raised United Pentecostal! They are a part of Pentecostal Assemblies right now, but I was so amazed to find this out and even happier when she asked lots of questions and I was able to share some with her! Who knows that this working friendship doesn't win them back!

Well, my 31 day period for a "change of mind" in my divorce proceedings is up Thursday, May 31st, and then it is only waiting for my order. I am so relieved it is over, a little sad, maybe wishing just a little that things could have been different, but oh so happy to be free from and abusive relationship! God is so good, and I have come this far with His help alone!

Happy Memorial Day holiday!

What a lovely day for a holiday...one I really needed! What I really super need is a vacation...one day! Anyways, I hope everyone had a great holiday. We didn't do too much, Emma was not feeling well yesterday, but seems ok today, so we played it low key. Told stories, played games, playdoughed the kitchen...that took forever to clean up! Bbq'd chicken, made a bean salad, and potato salad, all in all, even though it was SNOWING most of the day(AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH)it was a good day.

Happy Birthday Mich!

Happy Birthday on May 21st to a special friend, Michelle Miller! No relation, but a pretty amazing person if I do say so myself...which I do! She's a Mommy to two beautiful little blonde girls, and a wonderful wife to a big guy(Hi Rick!) Love ya so much, Mich and hoping your life only gets better from this point on! Kudos to you for struggling through what you've been through and keeping a smile on your face!

Attack Kitty!

Our kitty Marble just loves the wall mirror that covers the whole entire wall from behind my front door to the hallway. Here she is getting ready to attack that cat she sees...herself? LOL! Right after I took this pic, she puffed out like a blowfish and stalked her reflection all the way to the mirror, then backed off and ran. Haha, we were laughing pretty hard at her. Aren't the floors just great? They are so nice too, and easy to keep clean(except for the sweeping them 2-3 times a day)

Thursday's Thoughts

What a nice color! I am feeling frustrated over an incident that just happened a few minutes ago, so this color just looks so bright and cheerful, maybe it'll make things look better! Sigh...life happens though, huh? Unfortunately we have to take the bad with the ggod, but thank God He makes everything good in the end! LOL! Soooo, now that I feel better, we can move on! Life is too short to carry these things along, and reading a blog is not my first priority in life, so it will not be missed! Thank God for forgiveness! And thanks to Alicia for your wisdom...

What a day! It was so hot in my house today...sorry, I know it's too early to be complaining, but it's hot outside, therefore, it's even hotter in here! Air conditioning would be such a plus, but too expensive! Sigh...where's the happy medium around here? It's supposed to rain this weekend, now I am sure hoping it does! Cool things down a little!

Can you believe we are halfway through May already? Agh! Time flies, and we can't catch up! My little girl will be 8 in less than a month, and my 5 year old is already talking excitedly about kindergarten in just over 3 months. Summer always goes by so quickly, and this year more than ever, I wish I could slow it down! Once my boy starts school, there is no turning back. I mean, there's no way now either, but my baby going to school...already!?!

I am unclear as to the dates, but I want to say Happy Birthday to my previous brother in law David Bailey, and Happy Anniversary to David and Marilyn Bailey! All the best to you both!

Hope it was a good one!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day! Mine started out great, with breakfast in bed from my kids. Eggs and bran muffins that Nana helped them make, it was so sweet! Then they both made me cards and little gifts in Sunday School. My brother and I are taking her out tomorrow night for dinner for her fave, chinese food, and I guess it's partly for me too. Thanks Bro! I wasn't able to do a whole lot more, but she knows I love her to bits, and I was able to get her a potted rose plant which I know she loves.

Happy Mother's Day!

When God Created Mothers
by Erma Bombeck

When the good Lord was creating mothers He was into His sixth day of"overtime" when the angel appeared and said, "You're doing a lot of fiddling around this one."
And the Lord said, "Have you read the specs on this order? She has to becompletely washable, but not plastic; Have 180 moveable parts... all replaceable; Run on black coffee and leftovers; Have a lap that disappears when she stands up; A kiss that can cure anything from a broken leg to a disappointed love affair; And six pairs of hands."
"The angel shook her head slowly and said, "Six pairs of hands... no way."
"It's not the hands that are causing me problems," said the Lord. "It's the three pairs of eyes that mothers have to have."
"That's on the standard model?" asked the angel.
The Lord nodded. "One pair that sees through closed doors when she asks,"What are you kids doing in there?" when she already knows. Another here inthe back of her head that sees what she shouldn't but what she has to know, and of course the ones here in front that can look at a child when he goofs up and say, "I understand and I Love You" without so much as uttering aword."
"Lord", said the angel, toughing His sleeve gently, "Come to bed.Tomorrow..."
"I can't," said the Lord, "I'm so close to creating something so close to myself. Already I have one who heals herself when she is sick... can feed a family of six on one pound of hamburger... and can get a nine-year-old tostand under a shower."
The angel circled the model of a mother very slowly. "It's too soft," she sighed.
"But tough!" said the Lord excitedly. "You cannot imagine what this mother can do or endure."
"Can it think?"
"Not only think, but it can reason and compromise," said the Creator.
Finally, the angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek. "There's a leak," she pronounced. "I told You. You were trying to put too much into this model."
"It's not a leak," said the Lord, "it's a tear."
"What's it for?"
"It's for joy, sadness, disappointment, pain, loneliness and pride."
"You are a genius," said the angel.
The Lord looked somber. "I didn't put it there."

Happy Birthday to my little Janae-Bug!

Ok, so it's a little late, her birthday was actually the 9th, but Happy Birthday anyhow! Janae Laranda Lewars is 2 now! Isn't she just beautiful? She is one of the sweetest little girls, and I am so proud she is in my dayhome! Love you Janae!

Saturday Night Ramblings

I am really sorry to anyone wondering why I switched my colors again, but the dark look is just too depressing! I am the type that loves bright colors, so the pink it is! It makes everything so much nicer, you know?

It is Saturday night, and I am feeling a bit tired, but better than I have in over a week. I had a rather weird allergic reaction to something this morning; I was outside mowing my lawn and sneezing like crazy. My eyes swelled up and itched so bad! It seems to be gone now, so I'm not sure what it was, but I didn't like it a bit! Pollen maybe?

Logan seems to have recovered from the flu that he battled almost all of this week. Thank God! His appetite was still lacking this morning, but he was voraciously hungry tonight! I had to stop him or he would have eaten everything in the fridge! LOL!

We have taken back the cat that Sis. Roberta gave Emma last year. My brother took her last summer, because our place was just not big enough for her, but now that we have our own place, Emma begged to have her back. So Marble is back with Emma. Hopefully it goes well with the dayhome kids, and with Emma cleaning her litter box!

Our new house!

Two front pics of our new house...isn't the lantern just quaint? It will be so pretty with snow on it and around it, but I am so ready to wait for that! My parents sweet basement suite, it is small, but cozy.

Our new backyard

Patio off the back door(my parents entrance); Logan doing his thing...our yard is huge! Emma being silly!

Moving Day pics

My son, the wannabe driver of this enormous truck! Nice try, Logan!

Saturday night, no Sunday morning...

Well, it's 3:00 in the morning, and I am sitting here at my computer, bleary eyed, so tired, but alert to every sound my son makes. He woke up about an hour ago, and came into my bed where he promptly threw up all over it. I guess I was expecting it seeing as one of my dayhome girls was sick on Thursday, but you can always hope it will pass you by...he had a bath, which helped, but was sick again in the tub, so now he's back in bed, warm, dry, clean, but still feeling yucky. I myself so hate the flu so I feel so bad for him, but he's a trooper! Sigh...I guess I'll be visiting the laundromat tomorrow...my quilt is too big for my washing machine. Get better soon, my boy! I love you and am praying for you!

Ok, ok, I'm Baaaack!

It's been a loooong week...I have a ton to say, and I am so tired I don't feel like even blogging, but I better, or I might have some people coming after me...Rachel, you there? LOL!

Our move was entirely chaotic on Tuesday, starting with the fact that we only had 2 guys helping and they were both over 50, and felt the strain after only a couple hours. Understandable, but frustrating! We got our truck at 7 a.m. and had to have it back by 6 p.m. We used the whole time, and at the end had to shove everything in the garage so we could get the truck back! The new tenants were not supposed to move in until Saturday, something I confirmed with our landlord that morning. They showed up at 1:00 with trucks, and a ton of people and we were not even out yet! Then the landlady showed up and decided to hang around(literally) until we were done so she could do the inspection. She was driving us crazy, pointing out spots we had missed in the cleaning, and inspecting every corner, crack and scratch she could find. My mom and I were ready to blow a fuse, but we held it in...thankfully! An elderly neighbor we had grown close to kept Logan with her for over 4 hours, walking her dog, eating ice cream, buying him toys...you better believe it was difficult to convince him to come home! LOL! Thank you Tuni!

We are in our new house now, though and I LOVE it! I of course am in my own place now, the 3 bedroom upstairs of an older house, but it is mine and I really enjoy it. I've already started my decorating, and organizing it all is going to take some time, weeks, maybe months, but it's all mine and I am looking forward to doing things I have wanted to do for years! When I was married I was just getting warmed up with decorating then I lost it all, but I have new ideas now and am excited to do them. My kitchen is apples(thanks Lisa!) and it's coming together nicely. My sister in law is giving me her bedroom set when she replaces hers this summer, so once I have that I will decorate around it. Logan is so into dinosaurs, so hopefully I can buy the complete bedroom set I found on ebay sometime this summer for him. Emma is still the Princess girl, but really likes Tinkerbell right now so we are going for that. It will be slow, but it will come together. My livingroom, hmmmm, not sure yet, but I'm thinking...

I will try to keep up from this point on, but please don't desert me if I fall behind! I love you all and love your comments!
