Desperately Seeking Someone...

It's a good thing I am such a patient person...NOT! But I can take things in stride and having gone through what I have experienced I have to learn to just slow down and after having my rush of whatever emotion I feel at the time, I can accept that things just well, happen. Ok, now to explain myself a little better. I received a call from my lawyer today who informed me that they had tried for 3 days last week, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday to serve the divorce papers on John, and found out only Friday that he no longer lives there. Weird, considering I had received a card from him only 3 weeks before, the return address being that one. The current occupant gave them an address he had left asking that any correspondence be forwarded to him there: guess what? The address belonged to a family that had never even heard of him...??? I called my mother in law and she told me he was living with his father as he was looking for yet another job(there goes my child support for February) but would not be there long either, so as things stand right now, my lawyer id desperately trying to get the servers to get those papers to him before this Friday just in case he moves again. The whole situation is definitely not funny, but I can see the humor in it...after a couple hours...but God knows and we'll just let Him take care of it!

First Harvest Weekend!

He is the Lord of the harvest! This is our year to increase and the first of our many weekends to come with Tim Merritt begins tonight. God is going to do so much for us this year, and I want to be a part of it! Our choir has a special song we are singing this evening for the harvest weekend and even in practice last night, I felt God moving in an incredible way. Loving God and Loving People is our church motto and if we can believe this with all our hearts and act on it, we will see increase!

Life in high gear!

What a start to a new year! I'm fighting a nasty cold today, 3 of my 4 dayhome kids are sick, and both my kids are having bowel problems again. Sigh...but, I did find out after numerous promises and no progress, my divorce papers were filed a week ago today and John will be served by tomorrow at the latest. Whew...one thing off my mind. The bad thing is if he responds to it in any way, it could drag on for a looong time, but if he doesn't respond, by March 2nd, I will be divorced. I am praying...

Girls...

Ok, this is just weird! Emma has picked up this, um, new thing and after a couple days of doing it, it was soooo annoying, but when I decided to tell her to stop, I had a flashback. I was sitting in French class when I was in grade 4, I think, a class taught by Tina Walz. Lisa Hamlin at the time had perfected the art of fake sneezing, and had taught it to me only the previous day. I was anxious to try it out, but wasn't sure how or where. The class itself could be quite boring, as most kids thought at that time, so I decided to try it there. After a few well spaced sneezes that were to my great surprise really great, Tina looked at me with concern and asked me if I was feeling ok. I said of course, but a couple sneezes later she came and checked my head, then went downstairs and got my mom who took me home! Hahahaha, I know, I know, that was horrible, but hey...at least I got out of class...anyhow, that was my annoying noise, but Emma's is a fake belch, and it sounds so real, and disgusting! She says Cassidy taught her, and, ahem, it keeps the boys away...

Tragic death

I don't know if any of you remember Cindy, but I do and I was saddened by her death so tragically just a couple days ago. Cindy was the woman who witnessed to my parents and brought them to church. She is the reason we are here today, and unfortunately, she moved on a long time ago and we lost contact. She was my school teacher for a brief time, a friend to my family as well as a next door neighbor, and she will be missed. Our prayers go out to her family.

Coffee and Scream playdate

We had a playdate today with one of my dayhome moms and her little girl Alyssa. Logan, Haille and I met her there and the kids had a blast! Of course, some kids are quite vocal and I lost my hearing a few times...

Rough day for Logan...

Today was just not Logan's day! Poor guy! First he woke up around 5 a.m., and promptly rushed to the bathroom and threw up. For him, that's big, cause he doesn't get sick often. He was cleaned up, and put back to bed where he refused to stay(go figure!)but he did end up feeling much better quickly. Then he and Emma were playing and he bent down to pick up a toy and Emma's knee caught him full in the face causing him to have a nosebleed. It scared me because Emma was screaming and Logan was wailing so I thought the worst of course, but everything was ok, thank God! Then Logan went to bed and as he was settling in, the board on his bed collapsed. The bed is made so it won't fall in but when the board slips, his head goes down a little. Sigh...like I said, definitely not the best day for him!

Dayhome run in...but run out now!

Well, life goes in the weirdest ways sometimes! Just when things are smoothly sailing, it throws a hiccup in your path! Figures! I had a rather basty run in with a dayhome mom yesterday, and all over a cup of juice. Yep, that was the total of it. She left and a few minutes later came steaming back in and demanded to speak with me privately, where she told me her daughter had not finished her cup of juice, and that meant that there was something wrong with me and my house...hmmmm??? She insisted that now her daughter would have insufficient liquids in her body and that was bad because now she was going to get sick I guess. Funny thing is, she already is sick, with a pretty bad cold and spent most of the day whining, and fussing because her nose would not stop running. Then when I tried to tell her that I could not force her to drink but that she had access to her cup all day she called me a liar, and left. Oh boy! I was pretty angry by then too, but did not show it. I prayed hard over this one and she called tonight and just decided to remover her daughter from my home which is what I had decided was the best course of action anyhow. God knows what kind of things she may have come up with in the future...I have been super blessed with awesome kids, and this one was a little different and had alot of problems so it was all for the best!

My Father in Law

I just wanted to share something I found amazing and just so neat. I received a telephone call from my father in law this evening, the first in over a year and a half. He is not really a phone person, so I was not worried about it, but was thrilled when he called tonight. He wanted to see hoe we were and thanked me for the pictures I had just sent out to him. Before I continue, I have to just say this began on Christmas Eve when we were at my sister in law's place. She called him to say hello and he spoke with me briefly. In the conversation, he expressed that he and the others loved me very much and were all thinking of me. I was quite astounded as he usually does not express himself this way and when we tell him we love him he just nods and moves on. He did so tonight as well, and I have to say I am surprised, but pleasantly. I was blessed with a tremendous father in law and will be sad to no longer be related to him. Of course as I have stated before we will always be friends and since he is my chuldren's grandfather, will always be a special part of our lives. Thanks Dad for being a good father in law for a girl who really needed it!

Life update

Oooooh, man, Rachel is probably ready to shoot me! She checks my blog like 500 times a day(exaggerated!) and I haven't posted in a few days! Sorry, Rach! It's just that nothing exciting is happening right this minute! Life is just...life. My dayhome is losing one little girl after next week, so I'll be down to 2 full time and 2 part time again. I like it like that cause I can give them a little more attention than when I had 6 kids!

I just got a pretty tulle canopy for my own bed and my daughter thinks she's Sleeping Beauty! Hahaha, she's lying in it and asking her Prince Charming to come kiss her. And if anyone shows up, I'll be kicking someone out reeeeealy fast! They start young...I keep trying to remember if I did that too and I know I did but when I was 7? Seems so young!

Well, Lisa O and I are starting our new walking pilates today! I am so excited about it! It looks like fun, and of course if we are consistent we'll be slim soon! Yea!!!!!! This is THE year!

Tobogganing

We went tobogganing on Saturday and had a really fun time. We went to Confederation Park where there was a Calgary Herald reporter out and she took some pictures of the kids and said they'd probably be in the paper sometime this week. Cool!
