Happy New Year! May the new one be even better than any before! I know mine will be! The only bummer is I'll be 30 this year...that stinks, but life stops for no one. My consolation is I won't be alone! Haha, Loro, Rachel, Lisa, Christine...here we come ladies!!!

Boxing Day Fun!

I took my kids skating for the first time on Boxing Day and they had a blast! I was quite amazed at how quickly they picked it up, and though they didn't get too far, they were able to balance nicely, and with time will only get better. I am considering lessons, and they are excited about it. Especially Logan! Give him a stick and skates and he'll be happy!

Words from the Heart
I had a rather interesting experience yesterday. I received the court order from the Ontario courts with the increase in child support that was granted a month or so ago, and to my surprise, they included a full copy of the transcript from the hearing. I have never received a transcript before, so I read through it, and was hardly surprised to see that John lied under oath three times. Sigh...I got really worked up about it and spoke to my sister in law here, and by the end of our conversation, we both realized it was pointless to be upset when we knew we could never change John's nature. When someone lies enough, it becomes believable to them as well, and unfortunately, that is the case with him. I found out that I could challenge the transcript, and since I have witnesses for two of the lies he told to prove otherwise, he would be charged with perjury, but I can't do the legal thing anymore. I am so tired of it all, and since we are all aware that unless God performs a miracle, John will never change, I will leave it at that. It's so sad that things like this happen. I am grateful to be receiving child support again, though I have to laugh as I received $60 yesterday...??? Compared to what he owes, this was a drop in the bucket...but I won't complain, it could be nothing as it was for months!

Uncle Mike wearing Logan's new pirate costume...sorry, Mike you're not scary enough! Emma with her 5 new Dancing Princess Barbies and carriage. Logan and his new monster firetruck. He loves it and even slept with it beside him that night! My babies in their new pyjamas and slippers. Uncle mike putting the new pirate ship together. It took him over an hour and it took Logan 1 minute to tear it apart in the battle...sigh...

Last day!!!
Yea!!!!!!! It's the last day of work for a week and I am PUMPED! The last few weeks have been tough with kids being sick, and all, so this is just what I need! Of course, this wekk wwas pretty good too as I had hardly any dayhome kids, but wheeeee, I get to sleep in next week! Ha, until 7:30, instead of 6:30...my kids can go until late and still be up early! Oh well, at least I don't have to worry about getting up for dayhome kids. I hope everyone has an awesome holiday, and don't eat too much! The one year I had Christmas with my ex-husband's family I remember we had soooo much food and we just ate all day, at any time we wanted. It was, well, really good, but I vowed neveer to do that again! I was pregnant with Logan at the time and was I sick from overeating! Ugh! But...cornbread dressing, sweet potatoes, turkey, ham...mmmmmmmmmm, can't wait! Enjoy!

The Four Commandments according to Logan Miller
1. You can't kill...it's really bad.
2. You have to love Jesus more than your mommy, but I'm sure Jesus wouldn't mind if sometimes I kissed mommy more.
3. Don't steal! If you come down a chimney, you are a fief(thief)
4. Read your bible lots. God said, so do it.
After that he lost track of what to say so that was Logan's definition of the commandments. Hmmmm...he knows there is no Santa Claus, but he likes the chimney idea. He was pretty relieved when I told him we didn't have one!

My newest dayhome child's famous dad!!!

Hey, I found this on the sports website and thought I'd put it on. This is Gino Divincentis, the father of the little girl I am caring for now. Over and above being well known, he is a super awesome guy, funny, and an amazing dad for his girl! I truly believe God led them to me and things have been awesome!
Gino DiVincentis - Running Back Coach
Gino enters his second season with the Calgary Stampeders. In his first season DiVincentis started the season as an offensive quality control coach. As the season progressed he started working with the running backs and in particular Joffrey Reynolds. Reynolds finished the season fifth All-time in Stampeder history with 247 carries for 1,437 yards, averaging 5.8 yard per carry, and eight touchdowns. His 1,437 yards was 2nd highest in the CFL. Reynolds also finished the season fourth in yards from scrimmage with 1,531. DiVincentis also worked with Running Back Tony Stallings who spent the majority of the season on the practice roster until called upon in the Western Semi-Final. In the game Stallings recorded five carries for 90 yards and caught one pass for 33 yards. Before joining the Stampeders DiVincentis spent over 14 years with St. Francis and was in the City Finals every season. In the last two seasons Gino has taken over as head coach, leading the team to two straight undefeated seasons. In 2003 the team went 11-0, while this past season they finished the year with a 10-0 record. In both seasons St. Francis went on to win a city and provincial championship. Gino was recognized for his accomplishments after the 2003 season, being named the Frank Morris Tier I High School Football Coach of the Year. This past season St. Francis High School was also recognized by NFL/CFL Futures as the number one ranked high School in Canada. Previous to the 2003 season Gino spent 12 seasons as defensive coordinator at St. Francis. During these years St. Francis led the league in fewest points against in 11 of the 12 seasons. Before joining St. Francis, Gino was a receiver coach at St. Mary’s High School in Calgary, AB. His first coaching job came in 1987, where he coached receivers at Michael A Riffel High School in Regina, SK.Gino graduated from the University of Regina with a Bachelor of Education and also received a Master of Arts Degree at Maryvale Institute in Birmingham, England. He is married to his wife Sherri who works at Tourism Calgary. Gino has been employed by the Calgary Catholic School Board since 1988 and will continue to do so while working with the Stampeders.

One small step, one giant leap!
Well, I had my meeting today, and to my surprise found out everything should be finalized by the end of January! Yea! The papers are being filed tomorrow(yea, I know I said today...lawyers...)then the court order to serve him will be issued by the end of the month, he will be served by January 8th, and 15-20 days later, the final papers are processed and from there it is just a matter of waiting for the final order. I am hoping it all goes like he explained to me today...as you know, things change with these lawyers every day!

On your mark...get set...GO!
Ok, I meant that literally! I hired a lawyer in July to fight the case for me when my ex husband tried to accuse me of really nasty things, and all the rest of the garbage that went with it, and I also retained him to do my divorce for me. I paid the filing fee in August and expected the first set of papers to be filed then. Weeeelllll, nothing happened. I mean nothing, until just a couple weeks ago when I finally signed the reataining contract, and filled in all the missing info on my ex. Still I waited, and continued paying money that wasn't even being used. I was getting so frustrated as I was telling folks it was happening, but it just wasn't! Well, I have an appointment tomorrow to take in a picture of him, as well as sign the affidavit that he gave me his address(just in case he says he didn't???)and my lawyer is filing the papers immediately after the meeting, and is hoping he will be served by Christmas Day. Due to the holidays he said to expect a slight delay, but he only has about 30 days I think to serve him after they have been filed so it will be soon. Then a month and a week after the papers have been served the remaining papers are filed and I am a single woman from that point. All we wait for then is just the final order which takes between 2-5 weeks to arrive in the mail. I am soooo relieved and happy and excited that it is finally coming to a close I can't even describe how I really feel. I know I just said some of it, but it's hard, to be married to someone for almost 9 years and not feel something! Hurt, anger, frustration, but mostly relief that I am free from the ruthless control that one man held over my entire family and friends. Thank God for His mercy, protection and grace!

Funny for the day...
Sigh...my son is just full of them, and just when I think he couldn't top it, he does it again! This morning he climbed into my bed at, ok, drum roll....5:30! Aaaaagggghhhhh! Then promptly informed me he wanted 'fried' toast for breakfast. I was of course still half asleep, but asked him what 'fried' toast was. He said, in his all knowing way,"Mommy, you know, the Chinese toast dipped in eggs and cinnamon!" Well, I have to say I was wide awake then and laughing when I realized he meant French toast! From fried, to Chinese, to French...he knew it was some kind of nationality!!!

My Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades!!!
Hahahaha, remember that one? I think it was the Class of '94? April, Nikki, Kara, and ??? Can't even remember it was sooooo long ago! Yiii, that meakes me 12 years older! Aaaaaghhhhhhhh, let's change the subject!
Anywaaaaaaaay...I started a new dayhome girl pretty much today and she is such a sweetie! Alyssa is 15 months old and just getting over being sick, but a really good baby. I start another little one tomorrow, only part time, which is good, cause I was a tad worried about her. Quinn is 21 months, but a very touchy little one...she has to touch it all, and though I don't have much that is breakable, I still want to teach her what she can and cannot touch. It should be interesting...Soooo, that makes Haille and Alyssa 5 days a week; Alexa 4 days a week; Janae 2 days a week, and Quinn the other 2 days Janae is not there. Of course I have Logan as well, so that makes for a rather full day I say!
I'm a little lost as to my divorce proceedings right now, so I have no updates yet. My lawyer is quite popular I guess and always veeeery busy so to get ahold of him I was thinking I might have to camp outside the office...haha...not really, but we'll see what happens soon. I will just be glad to get it done. I have a whole future ahead of me and so much more to accomplish, with my children, together we are moving forward! Yea for us!!!!

Annual Christmas Party Part 2!

My two smallest guests, Laurel and Anna, aren't they sweet? Lisa Bisa, my favorite friend, and Nita Benita being squished by our resident blind friend Shelley, who, though she cannot see, she is one smart cookie in a million other ways! I love you all and thank you so much for making our party a great one!
