Visit from Grandma!
My children's grandma is coming in to Calgary on the 3rd of October for I believe 15 days. She tries her best and has pretty much succeeded in coming at least once a year to see them as well as her other granddaughter Genevieve. Edna Miller has 10 grandchildren, 3 of whom are here in Calgary. The other 7 are with her in Ontario which is lovely for grandparents to have the majority of their grandchildren so close. It is a special time for her though when she comes here as she only sees my two children the once a year she comes. Genevieve she sees a couple times as her parents visit Ontario once a year as well. I have to say I am glad she puts the effort into seeing them unlike their father who has ceased any communication with them at all in months. I realize that members of my soon to be ex-husband's family read this so please don't be offended by what I say. Actions always speak louder than words, and by not communication he has shown loud and clear how he takes the whole father issue. I am relieved, yes, and more happy now than we were in contact as it takes the pressure off my children as to what to say to someone they do not know. My daughter showed my son a picture of their father only a few weeks ago and asked him if he knew who it was. Logan said no, then said, whoever he is, he's sure ugly! Well, needless to say he was corrected on saying something nasty about anyone, but it saddened me to see he had no idea who his own father even was. God has done wondrous things for us though and I refuse to llok back and wish things had been different anymore. We are moving forward, putting the past full of tragic memories behind us, and forging a better life than we could ever have expected. Of course with God any life is made better!!! So to end this, I hope my children have a wonderful time getting to know their grandmother better, and spending time with their cousin whom they love to bits!!!

3 more months!!!
Ok, ok, so I'm rushing it! You can't tell me some of you aren't already too! I just LOVE Christmas...the scent of the fresh pine trees and wreaths, people are definitely friendlier, and like I noticed last year, people seem to be more recetive to hearing about Jesus which of course is our aim for the season! I love Christmas music, decorating my house, seeing my children's eyes light up when I give them a gift they have beem wanting for a long time! Last year my children started something that I wept over and I am determined to continue this as long as I can. There was a little girl in the church that was going to get nothing, her mom had no money and her dad was not there at the time. I asked my babies what we should do andthey both without hesitation offered some of their gifts for her. We went out together and each of them bought her a present with money from their piggy banks, and I am just so proud of them! Of course Logan tried to change his mind and buy himself something when he saw all the cool toys in the store(hahaha)but he came through! Oh to be like Jesus!!!

Cold Season
Yep, sure enough the cold season has arrived...with a bang! All of my dayhome kids are just getting over their first colds of this year, then Logan got it, not too bad, now it's me and oh the misery...I hate colds, not being able to taste or smell anything! It's good cause I've hardly eaten a bit in 2 days, but I can't stand the stuffy sinuses! Oh well, you have to accept that when one gets sick...the rest do too!
Logan is doing incredible with his schoolwork! He can print his name, though it is messy, and by the end of the year I am sure it will be better. He's learning his letters, slowly, but he seems to retain things well. His numbers are being recognized quickly and now it's just getting him to print them as well as his letters. It'll come!

In the image of his papa!!!
Talk about comedians! Meet the one in my family...my son! I have to say not a day goes by that he does not make me laugh so hard I cry. He is such a blessing to me and I am so thankful for my boy! I see so much of my own dad in him and every day that goes by Logan does more and more that follows in his papa's footsteps. There is no one I would rather he do so with, other than Jesus, of course, and I am so proud of him! We went to Costco today and seeing as I only have one fitted sheet for my bed(bought it 3 years ago!!!)they had sheet sets on sale and I bought a set. My mother was so impressed she bought one too, and taking them home we made the beds and marvelled at the softness as they are flannel. Logan rolled in the top sheet and peeking out, smiled and asked his papa," So, Papa, where are YOU sleeping tonight?" We all cracked up and then he said," Let's trade beds, Nan! You and Papa sleep down in mine and mmmmm, I get the bestest, softest one!" Needless to say I am hoping to get my kids the same sheets one of these days...
Dayhome kids
A normal day in the life of dayhome. My son, Logan, who is 4 and a half, Alexa,2, Brooklyn,2, Haille,2, Janae,1, in the high chair and Claire on the floor, who is 1. I enjoy doing dayhome, even though like any job it has it's days! Claire's mom quit her job so I no longer have her now, and Brooklyn is finished next week so most days it is just Alexa, Haille and Logan. I have Janae on Tuesdays and Thursdays(she's 1)and Samuel on Mondays only(he's 1)so it works out. Hey, at least I get to stay home!!!

My beautiful friend and I share a last name through marriage, Miller. We are not related, but she is a wonderful person, and I love her to pieces! When I first met her in September 2000, I was struck immediately by how much she reminded me of my closest friend, Becky Macleod. Not in looks, but her personality, and even the way she spoke and laughed, I could see and hear Becky! We became friends quickly and I am so happy to say we still remain close and hope to for years to come! She has two adorable little girls, Tamara and Miranda, and of course like most kids they are growing up so fast! Love you Mich, and pray for you always!Wednesday, September 13, 2006
He is the Comforter
I was sad to hear from a close frind in Ontario today that her 17 year old nephew was hit by a car and killed instantly only a day or so ago. Life is so fleeting, and can be wiped out in a second. We both lost a mutual frind only last summer when his car was hit head on by a snowplow. You wonder at the injustice of a life being taken so young, but God knows what their future held, and He alone knows when it is our "time" to go. But to the rest left behind, He truly is a comforter, and heals our griefs like no other can.

Lest We Forget...9/11/01
The horror of only 5 years ago comes backto me now as we remember the terrorrist attacks on The World Trade Center and the Pentagon. I was at home with my little girl and I remember sitting in front of my radio weeping and not able to stop, the terrible happenings almost too much to believe. Thank God for his healing and the comfort he brings. For those closer to the attacks then we, it will take longer to heal, but we will be praying. Even today, the horror continues, with casualties in Iraq, and surrounding areas. We always wonder when it will end...with the coming again of Jesus which is imminent. Let us stay close to Him, and love Him and just remember His love covers all.

My precious children and I on this past holiday Monday at Heritage Park. We had such a fun time and I am hoping to create as many memories as I can while they are young. I love them so much, and thank God for them always! I told a friend only recently, going through a divorce is hard enough, but having to do it alone is unimaginable! I am truly blessed!Another school year...
Well, here we are, another start to another school year. Emma has begun grade 2, and I am still amazed when I think she only has 10 years left of 13! I know I sound like I'm rushing it, but honestly, time goes so quickly, it's not me rushing things!!! I wish I could slow it all down...
Things are definitely busy, now that my dayhome is full time again. Alexa(2) comes 4 days a week, Monday thru Thursday, Haille(2) is full time, 5 days a week, Claire(1) comes 3 days a week, Tuesday thru Thursday, Samuel(1) comes 1 day a week, Mondays, and Janae(1) comes 2 days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. I also have another 2 year old right now, just for 3 weeks, and she is full time so as you can see it is crazy around here! I also have my own 4 year old who sometimes I know he is being put aside for the sake of the others and that will be rectified immediately. It bothers me to no end and I have found a few ways to help it. Any suggestions?

Rachel Goff at 32 weeks!!!

Here is my darling friend in her later stages of her first pregnancy! Doesn't she just glow? She is so beautiful and I am so happy for her! Her and her husband have adopted two little girls and this is of course their first biological child. Maybe the last, but only God knows that! Heehee...hopefully she doesn't kill me for posting this picture, but if I receive a call it's pulled!

Purposley Incorrect Software
Logan is so funny, and he gets it all from his papa, believe me! He found a $10 bill in WalMart tonight and he asked if he could buy something with it. I agreed, and he picked an Incredibles game cd for the computer. We brought it home and I left to do some more running around. While I was gone he asked papa to put the cd on and when he did, my dad not knowing how to install it told him it didn't work yet and mommy would have to come home and do it. My impatient son folded his arms and glaring at the computer told his papa," I just KNOW the people who put that cd in this package knew it didn't work and they sold us a broken one! I knew they would do that to me!" Needless to say, like I said it didn't come from me...
