The Ladybug and the Piglet

My two cute little dayhome girls in their costumes. Alexa refused to let me take hers off, even though she was sweating like crazy in it! I finally convinced her after promising she could put it right back on and hmmm, she hasn't asked and it's been over an hour! I'll post the costume party pics later tonight or tomorrow.

The first snow of the season...well, real snow!

My kids went out sledding with their Nana today and I had to BRIBE Logan to come back in! Hot chocolate anyone? Warm bath? Both, or he was NOT coming in...emma is wearing her new coat that she HAD to have since everyone else in the class had long ones to slide down hills on. They are hard to find and extremely pricey, but I squeezed it in! We'll see how long this snow lasts...hopefully not too long!

YAD...Yet Another Diet

Here we go again...like Becky told me last night, Jamie says, YAD...yet another diet, and yep, it's a never ending thing around this lady! I am DETERMINED to lose this excess weight as it is more of a hindrance than a help! Dieting SUCKS, but seems to be necessary. Then again, if I could just make it my lifestyle, it wouldn't be so much a diet! Sooooo, I have decided to do Weight Watchers yet again, but not do the meetings. There are a few people I know doing it so we can encourage each other. Today has been awesome so far, so one day at a time... I'll try to keep posting my results and if I can pull this one off, pictures as I lose. Pray for me, k?

Words from Logan...

Ok, here goes with the most up to date from Logan. Yesterday he asked me,"Mom, is God ticklish?" Hmmmm, food for thought...I told him I was really not sure on that one, but didn't think so. He informed me when he gets to heaven he is going to find out! Kudos to you, my boy!

Emma and Logan were sitting in the sanctuary this morning and Emma was reading the books of the bible aloud. Logan repeated her with every book, and this is what I heard...

Ecclesiastes...Esasties
Psalms...Songs
Proverbs...Problems

Hahahaha, I was in stitches just listening to Logan's unique form of books of the bible!!! He is just such a joy! I love him sooooo much, both my precious babies, and thank God for them a hundred times a day! Well, a little exaggeration there, but you know! LOL!!!

Urgent prayer requested!

Hey all you bloggers, and blog readers! Please remember Rachel Goff(Mullins)and her family in your prayers! They have a new baby(Kyzer)as well as their two adopted girls Haley and Janessa, and a 7 year old foster boy. They had a foster girl who just last week set fire to their home and they got out thankfully, and the damage was only in the one room, but smoke damage was extensive and they are all in a motel now for who knows how long until it can be fixed. Their insurance covers it all thank God, but Douglas, Rachel, Sis. E, and the four kids are in two side by side rooms, and everyone knows motels! Especially for kids, it's gotta be tough! Pray that they can be back in their home for Christmas...who wants to spend Christmas in a motel???

High School lunch out at Burger King!

Haille Bug as the princess, Logan as the king, and Sherri as the, well, burger monster??? Hahaha...true enough though, I haven't been to Burger King since I was a teenager, and their burgers are rather good! I was a driver for my mom's school class for their monthly lunch out. It was fun...Jenna took Logan and Haille up the slide there, and of course those are the things Logan lives for!

Lucky me! My own personal superhero and fairy!!!

Meet Batman and Tinkerbell!!! No, we don't do the Halloween thing, but there is talk of a costume party so they are ready! My kids love to play dress up, so these costumes will be good all year round...if I can get Logan, er, Batman to stop waking his mother up at 6 in the morning with a glaring bat signal in the face!!!

P.S. Tinkerbell will be on later...

Belated Happy Birthday!

Well, after my mother in law's visit and the surfacing problems after(not with her!)I completely forgot to post for my dad's birthday! Happy Birthday Daddy!!! 51 and counting! Let's get healthy together so we can be here together 20 years from now! I love you soooo much and appreciate more than words can say what you have done for my children and I! For being the father they need, the papa they adore, and most of all, my strength, and my dad!

Ladies Prayer Group

Our ladies prayer has started up again on Friday mornings at 9:00 am and if you need a good way to start your day...be there! It is such a blessing for me that I can go, and even though I haven't taken advantage of it very often in the past, I really do want to now. Being that I am 30 seconds away-and I only have one dayhome child on Friday's, I really have NO excuse! Today was amazing-Sis. King really spoke to me and it kind of kicked in today that maybe that's why I have been waking in the night alot lately with so much on my mind, and I realize now that God was trying to speak to me, and like she said, give me a song in the night. When we sang I Stand in Awe on Wednesday night it hit me so hard that God is truly One to stand in awe of because of what He has done for ME!

Thank you so much to all the ladies that prayed with me today! I love you all and though I cannot bare my heart to you all, I know God moves on you to just pray for me for everything, like we all need!!! I pray for you all too, and I am so thankful for friends like you! Charlene, MerBear, Darlene, Shirley, Lisa, Linda, Noreen, Betty, Letes, Roberta, Tina, Jolene, Loro, Sis. King, just the ones that were all together today, a HUGE thank you, and God bless you all!!!

Another day, another dollar...and sooo much more work!!!

Well, I have to say that I have had it good these last few months with only a couple dayhome children, but now it's time to buckle down and work! I have 3 more dayhome kids joining my dayhome, and though it will be busy(understatement!!!)it will provide the income I need to just survive!!! Yeesh, I knew lawyers were expensive, but whew! And of course nothing is ever cut and dry anymore so all the little things add up, you know? Life is full of surprises, some good, some not so good, but we have to take both! Bummer! I am hoping to buy a house next summer, but hey, if I have to wait, ok, but it stinks! I really want my own place!!! And I want my parents to have theirs! They deserve it after 25 years of kids! Prayer will fix it...EVERYTIME!!!

Logan the Dinosaur! ROAR!

Ok, so I posted Emma's favorite...princesses, so now it's Logan's turn. He just LOVES dinosaurs and the bigger the better! Like Tyrannosaurus Rex? Ultimate dino for him!

God is in control! ALWAYS!!!

To my dear friend Mich!

God knows what you are going through right now, and He is there to guide you through it. Life is full of surprises, changes, and huge bumps in the road that may actually steer us away from the path we have fully intended to always follow. Follow YOUR heart, Mich, and go where God is leading you, be it spiritually, physically, emotionally...GO! I feel strongly that God is opening up new avenues for you and your precious family, and I know that you are afraid of doing something new and life changing, but it could be what you need! I love you and your family ever so much and pray for you always! Remember I am here for you forever!!!

Here they are picking up Rebekah's mother from our place so they can head out to a Morroccan restaurant for dinner...Genevieve's favorite, I believe!

The end of the legal stuff....hopefully!

Well, after years of numerous court appearances, and just too much legal jargon, I think the leagl stuff is finally over. My divorce will be finalized tentively by February 1, 2007, and John is to appear in court October 23rd(just a week and some away)to receive his order for increase in child support, and pay special expenses for the children we had together. Like I said before, he has severed communication with us and therefore it's sad that it has to be like that, but my children are happy and healthy, and honestly do not remember him at all(Emma does just in flashes) so we have moved forward. Thank you all for your prayers for me and my children and I pray God blesses you all tremendously!

Are we thankful?

Thanksgiving...a time to give thanks for what God has done for us, and for the world we live in. Canada is the best country in the world to live in and sadly, alot of us just don't appreciate it enough. I love Calgary, and just being away the almost 3 years I spent in Ontario made me appreciate it all the more! Thank God for Calgary!

I am so thankful for...

-my God! Where would I be today without Him?

-my beautiful children...God knew just what I needed, and though my marriage failed, my children have held me high through it all!

-my wonderful family...my parents for being with me when they could have just helped from afar, my brother for just being who he is, my sister in law Rebekah who has been a rock for me and given me courage to go on just knowing she believes in me.

-my friends...Becky for being the best friend a girl could ever ask for, Mich for being as close to me as a sister, April for knowing what I am going through as our situations are so eerily similiar, and the rest which are far too many to name! You know who you are and though I didn't list your name, you are loved and appreciated!

-my Pastor and his wife...what can I say but thank you? You have been my confidants, and even more, friends when I needed that more than anything. Your sound advice has always been true and I thank God for you always!

-Good health...yea, I am trying to lose weight so I can have better health, but I am thankful I am whole and of sound mind and body and have the ability to live, laugh and learn!

-I could go on and on and on, but let's just say I am thankful for everything! Even the trials in life...they only stand to make me stronger and I can smile through it all, knowing there is an end in sight!

More pics

Sorry folks, forgot the other pics!!! They had so much fun though!!

Well our dinner went well! Everyone enjoyed the manicotti...mmmmmm, and of course, Grandma brought gifts! She was so thrilled to get to see Emma and Logan again, and there were lots of hugs, kisses, and pictures!!! The little girl with Logan is his sweet cousin Genevieve. They are sooo much alike, as she is totally not into girl things like dolls and the such. She will take a dinosaur over a barbie and for Logan...that is his type of playmate!!!

Dinner with the In-laws...

Well, I have invited my mother-in-law and sister-in-law over for dinner tonight. Rebekah has told her about my mexican manicotti I make and she really wants to try it, so I am making that with greek salad. Mmmmm, I haven't had that in months! Edna brought my dad almost a full case of Diet Vernors gingerale and he is sooo pleased! They don't sell it here...awww,poor baby!!! The kids will enjoy playing with their cousin and I always enjoy talking with my sister in law. I have to say I am going to miss having her as a sister, but she'll always be my friend and for that I am thankful!
